Anne Rae

Anne Rae was a founder member of the Union of the Physically Impaired Against Segregation (UPIAS) and was one of the UPIAS representatives that sat on a group set up by charities such as Scope and RADAR to push for disability discrimination legislation.

Anne was instrumental to the establishment of the London Disability Arts Forum (LDAF) in 1986, and the organisation’s accompanying magazine, Disability Arts in London (DAIL). Together with Vic Finkelstein and Sian Vasey, she established LDAF as a forum for disabled people to explore their own culture, creating environments and opportunities for them to express this through a variety of artistic mediums.

She also is a former chair of the British Council of Disabled people (BCODP) and the Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People (GMCDP).=
